With a love of drilling engineering and a passion for sustainability, Brittany Gierke is working to advance next-generation geothermal development as a Drilling Engineer at Fervo Energy. In this role, Brittany is responsible for planning, designing and supervising drilling operations – helping to ensure Fervo’s wells are drilled safely, efficiently and in an environmentally responsible manner.

What made you want to join the Fervo team?

I first came across Fervo Energy through a google search and then started seeing articles about Fervo everywhere! I have always loved drilling wells and have spent the last several years really getting into regenerative agriculture. What Fervo is doing in the geothermal space is the perfect marriage between my love of drilling engineering and my passion for sustainability. I knew that this role was for me!

How has your career experience prepared you for your role at Fervo?

I had the opportunity to spend a lot of time on a drilling rig with an oil and gas company that really pushed process and safety. After that role, I switched to working for private equity companies that placed strong emphasis on cost performance. Fervo is a great blend of the two: a strong safety culture that focuses on implementing the right amount of process and procedure to continuously improve our performance.

Working with the team we have. The Fervo culture is easy to see even on your first day. We really care about our team members, contractors and business partners. We all share a passion for what we are doing, maintain a sense of humor, and enjoy going to work.
